Terms of use

Last updated 28 October 2026

These terms explain how AfriEscape works for travellers ("guests") and for people who list places to stay ("hosts"). By creating an account or sending a booking request you agree to them.

What AfriEscape is

AfriEscape is a platform that connects guests with hosts. We are not the owner or operator of the properties and we are not a party to the agreement between a guest and a host. The host is responsible for the property, the stay and the service.

Booking requests and payment

  • A booking request is not confirmed until the host accepts it. The status is shown under "My trips".
  • For now, payment is not taken on this website. The guest pays the host at the property, or as the host arranges directly with the guest.
  • The total shown is calculated from the host's nightly price and the number of nights. Hosts are responsible for any other charges they apply and for telling guests about them.

Cancellations

Each property shows its own cancellation policy. A guest can cancel a request from "My trips". Whether any charge applies is governed by the host's policy and arranged between the guest and the host.

Hosts

  • You must have the right to list the property and to use every photo and description you upload.
  • Information must be accurate, including prices, address, rooms, amenities and rules.
  • A listing can accept bookings only after we have approved it. We may reject, suspend or remove a listing at any time, for example if it is inaccurate, misleading or unsafe.
  • We may charge a commission on completed bookings. We will agree the amount with you before your first booking.

Guests

  • Give your real name and a phone number the host can reach you on. Hosts use these details only to handle your booking.
  • Follow the house rules and treat the property with care.

Accounts and acceptable use

Keep your password private. Do not post false or illegal content, harass others, or try to interfere with the website. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Our responsibility

We work to verify listings before they can take bookings, but we cannot guarantee the quality or safety of every property or the conduct of every guest or host. To the extent the law allows, AfriEscape is not liable for losses arising from a stay or from an agreement between a guest and a host.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Questions? See our contact page.
