This page explains what personal information AfriEscape collects, why, and who can see it.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and the password you choose (stored in protected form, never in plain text).
  • Booking details: dates, number of guests, the name and phone number you enter, and any note to the host.
  • Host listings: property details and photos that hosts upload.

How we use it

  • To run your account and to process booking requests.
  • To let the host contact you about a booking.
  • To review listings, prevent fraud and keep the platform safe.

Who can see it

  • The host of a property you request sees the name, phone number, dates, guest count and note from your booking request. No other host sees them.
  • Our administrators can see accounts, listings and bookings to review listings and to resolve problems.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Where it is stored

Data is stored with our infrastructure providers: a database and file-storage provider, and a web hosting provider. These providers may process data outside Rwanda, including in Europe.

Cookies

We use browser storage only to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Contact us using the details on the contact page. We keep booking records for as long as needed to handle disputes and meet legal duties.
